Crime Victim Compensation
The Texas Crime Victims’ Compensation Fund is a program administered by the Office of the Attorney General that may provide financial assistance such as counseling expenses, medical services, and lost wages to victims of violent crimes. It is considered the payer of last resort, so check with your employer first if you were injured while in the performance of your duties. Additionally, there are restrictions limiting its availability, such as you may not obtain any benefits if you were incarcerated when you became the victim of a crime.
